How to Connect Reliance Broadband USB modem in Ubuntu 9.04/10.10 the Jaunty Jackalope/Maverick Meerkat release?

Yes,here is the easy way to config and connect your Reliance usb modem..


Before doing this,You should know >> How to install wvdial in ubuntu”

IMP: install ‘wvdial’  from the above link before proceeding to further steps below..

 

Step 1: Open System ->Preferences ->Select and Click “Network Connection”.

Step 2: Yes,Now you will get a window like this..

Step 3: Now Select “Mobile Broadband”

Step 4: Select the Default “Auto Mobile broadband” and click “Edit”

Step 5: You will get the above window.

Step 6: For Reliance set your

–> Number as : #777

–> Username as : U r number

–> Password as : U r number

Step 7: You can Edit your “Connection name” as your wish & Click “Apply”

Step 8: Yes,Now your are ready to connect..Click the icon at the top and select “Your connection name”

Step 9: It will start dialing your connection and after successful connection You will get an information like this at the top.

Step 10: Tats it..Now you can Explore your world..

    i am connecting by using these methods
    the bar shows that i am connected.
    but when i open fire fox and enter any address be it either http://www.Google.com or http://www.yahoo.com
    a message is displayed “sever not found” but net is connected.
    and when i use network tools to check internet connection & type address http://www.google.com in ping or net state or trace-route
    a message comes please enter a valid address

      did u got the tower icon as in the step:10?? if not try deleting the network connection and create a new account..

    i got the tower icon as shown in step 10

    but i knew that net is connected because it is showing the towers.
